Wine Cooler Losing Temperature Control

Symptom

Fix Time

Same-visit

Diagnostic Roadmap

1

Compressor Cycling

Checked, no issue

Turning on and off normally, correct run time

2

Door Seal

Checked, no issue

Full contact, no gaps under inspection

3

Thermostat Calibration

Found it

Sensor reading had drifted out of calibration, telling the compressor to shut off several degrees early

Resolution

Replaced the thermostat control with an OEM-spec part, calibrated against a separate reference thermometer, and monitored for two hours to confirm a stable set point.

Temperature drift with no obvious pattern usually points to the sensor itself, not the compressor. A cheap part to rule out before assuming the worst.
